
Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27th in 1976. He was born in the southern part of California. He was a student at Huntington Beach High School and was a star basketball and football player. Gonzalez excelled in both sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He helped lead the football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, he set a school record for receptions with nine and was able to tie it. Gonzalez was able to lead the basketball team to Sweet 16 in the NCAA basketball tournament a few months after. After graduating from highschool Gonzalez was selected in the 1997 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as the 13th overall pick. Gonzalez played with the Chiefs from 1997 until 2008. The Chiefs dealt Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. He never caught fewer than 59 passes during Gonzalez's second NFL season.
